Black Forest Cake

“Black Forest” cake aka Schwarzwälderer Kirschtorte is a cake with whipped cream and cherries. It first appeared in Germany in the early 1930s, and by now has gained worldwide fame. The Black Forest Cherry Cake has chocolate sponge cakes where layers are filled with cherries. Cherries and chocolate shavings are also used to decorate the cake. You may want to have a shot of sweet liquor with the cake but it’s not our fault!
